Find Stevens County Jail Releases

To find someone released from Stevens County Jail, first determine whether the person returned to the community or moved to another custodian. A missing jail entry cannot answer that question by itself. The jail may release someone after bond, time served, or a court order, but it may also transfer the person to state, federal, immigration, or another county custody. The sheriff’s release record supplies the local event and exact time. Court records explain the legal authority, while a receiving agency’s system shows whether custody or supervision continued after departure.

Stevens County Jail Release Paths

Stevens County Jail is the sole local adult detention facility identified in official county materials. It is a county jail operated by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, not a Kansas Department of Corrections prison. People may be held before trial, after arraignment, or for a short sentence. The correct first source is therefore the sheriff, not KASPER.

Departures branch in several ways. A person may return to the community on bond or recognizance, leave after time served, or go under another court order. Custody can also continue through transfer to KDOC, another county, federal authorities, or immigration custody. Ask for both release type and destination. “Released from Stevens County custody” is not always “released to the community.”

Confirm Stevens County Jail Release

No official online roster, recent-release feed, 24-hour list, or 72-hour list was found on the sheriff page. Call the jail at 620-544-4386. Give a full name, date of birth or approximate age, booking date, and booking number if known. A narrow inquiry reduces mistaken identity.

  1. Ask whether the person left Stevens County custody.
  2. Request the exact date and time of departure.
  3. Ask for the release authority or type.
  4. Ask whether the person returned to the community or went to a receiving agency.
  5. Request the prisoner-calendar entry or existing booking and release sheet for proof.

Kansas VINE is the notification path for participating county-jail changes. It excludes KDOC prisoners. A VINE alert still needs a jail follow-up because release and transfer are different events. KASPER becomes relevant only if the sheriff identifies KDOC custody or supervision.

KDOC’s official locating guidance explains when KASPER can show a state-corrections status and anticipated date.

The pictured state route applies only after a documented KDOC transfer, not to an ordinary bond release from Stevens County Jail.

Stevens County Jail Contact

Two official addresses describe different functions. KDOC’s county-jail directory lists the jail at 510 Monroe Street. The county sheriff page lists public office contact at 505 S. Monroe. Keep them distinct when visiting or sending a request.

The round-the-clock listing describes office and jail availability. It does not promise immediate record production or a specific release-processing time. Call first when the physical destination matters.

Stevens County Jail Records

K.S.A. 19-1904 requires the sheriff to keep a true and exact prisoner calendar. It includes the prisoner’s name and place of abode, time of commitment and discharge, cause and authority of commitment, and description. At release it must state the authority and exact time. This is the most precise target for an old Stevens County departure.

Use the county public-record form. Identify one person and episode, then ask for the prisoner-calendar entry and existing booking and release sheet. Request the booking photograph separately if needed. The county publishes charges of $15 per hour with a one-hour minimum, $0.50 per page, $0.50 per emailed scan, $15 for a record already in an emailable system format, and postage.

K.S.A. 45-218 requires a response as soon as possible and an explanation by the end of the third business day when access is not immediate. It does not guarantee production in three days. Ask for an estimate and a specific legal basis for any withholding.

Stevens County Jail Bond Release

The official sheriff instructions say bail can be posted at the Sheriff’s Department at any hour by cash, surety bond, or a cashier’s check payable to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Department and drawn on a Kansas bank. This makes an after-hours bond release possible. It does not set a promised processing time.

Bond ends the jail hold for that episode when processed, but it does not dismiss the criminal case. Confirm the actual exit with the jail and check the Stevens County district-court case for the next date and disposition. Another hold can also change the result.

Stevens County Court Records

The Kansas District Court Public Access Portal can show public Stevens County case events. Search by case number when known or carefully matched party name. Look for bond orders, disposition, sentencing, probation, revocation, and discharge or satisfaction entries. The portal is not a custody tracker.

A bond order explains authority but may not show the exact physical exit time. A dismissal resolves a charge but should be paired with the jail calendar when timing matters. Rule 22 also allows access differences between the portal and courthouse terminal, while protected or nonpublic records remain unavailable.

Stevens County Transfer Checks

A KDOC transfer can disappear from the local jail before KASPER updates. Ask the sheriff for the destination, then search KASPER by KDOC number or careful identity. A movement to a reception site is transfer, not community release. For a USMS or ICE movement, use the receiving authority named in the jail record.

No state prison, federal correctional institution, or dedicated ICE detention center was found within Stevens County. An outside transfer does not make that outside site a Stevens County facility. The records from each custodian must be reconciled.

Stevens County Release Evidence

The strongest answer uses three records. The jail record proves what the sheriff did and when. The court journal entry explains the legal order or disposition. The receiving agency record shows whether custody or supervision continued. A roster disappearance alone proves none of those outcomes.

Bond
Release from local custody subject to court duties, not dismissal.
Transfer
One custody ends while another begins.
Parole
Community release under an eligible KDOC sentence framework.
Probation
Court-ordered supervision that may occur without state prison.

Stevens County Release Fields

Ask for fields that distinguish the person, episode, event, and destination. Useful identifiers include full legal name, date of birth or approximate age, booking date, arresting agency, and booking number. Event fields include release date and time, release authority or type, charges at release, bond information, releasing officer when maintained, and property disposition. Transfer fields should identify the receiving agency or destination.

The exact Stevens County database fields have not been published. Treat that list as a request checklist, not a claim that every field exists. The statutory prisoner calendar supplies a firmer floor: name and place of abode, commitment and discharge times, cause and authority of commitment, description, release authority, and exact release time.

Ask staff to distinguish “released from Stevens County custody” from “transferred to another custodian.” For an old episode, ask which record-series retention schedule applies. Stevens County publishes no online former-booking retention window, so the records request is the durable path.

Stevens County Jail VINE Alerts

Kansas VINE covers adult offenders housed in participating Kansas county jails and excludes KDOC state prisons. Search the full name, compare identity and facility, and open the matching custody result. Registration is designed while the person appears in custody. A phone registration uses a private four-digit PIN. Email needs no PIN under the official guide, and live screens may offer text or app notice.

Release, transfer, and escape are separate alert events. Follow a Stevens County alert by asking, “Did the person return to the community or go to a receiving agency?” VINE does not provide the court disposition and does not prove sentence completion. Official materials also do not promise how long a released result stays searchable, so preserve the notice and obtain the sheriff record for historical proof.

The current brochure and KBI materials support 1-866-574-8463, while an Attorney General page displayed a different digit sequence during research. The direct online portal or the consistently repeated 8463 number is the safer route.

Stevens County Jail Photos

No official online Stevens County roster photograph channel was located. Request the booking photo separately, tied to a full name, booking date, and booking number. Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate. The custodian may apply lawful exemptions, redactions, and charges.

A KASPER image is a KDOC photograph and not necessarily the Stevens County booking photo. A KBI registry image serves a registration record. VINELink is a custody-notification service, not a sheriff photo gallery. Local news may show an arrest image, but that does not establish the release event.

Recheck Stevens County Jail

Use a precise name and booking episode when the first answer is unclear. Ask staff for the exact record field rather than a broad legal conclusion.
